National Intelligence Director. Trump stated that Bill Pulte will not be the permanent director of national intelligence. Trump stressed that Pulte is "not going to be permanent" intelligence chief. This announcement follows GOP pushback regarding the pick for national intelligence chief.
Pentagon Hiring. The Pentagon hired a man who pleaded guilty in the Jan. 6 riot for a sensitive civilian job. This individual is now working in a sensitive Pentagon office.
DOJ Investigations. The DOJ opened 15 new investigations into medical schools' admissions. These investigations focus on alleged race-based discrimination at the medical schools.
House Action. The House passed an agriculture and FDA appropriations bill. Separately, House Republicans are seeking a DOJ probe into allegations raised by Epstein's assistant. A House committee also called on the DOJ to investigate two men with ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The House also rejected a Lebanon war powers resolution in a bipartisan vote, blocking Rep. Rashida Tlaib's resolution.
