DOJ Funding. The Trump administration plans to drop the DOJ's $1.8 billion "lawfare" fund. Reports indicate this move will eliminate the "weaponization" fund. This development signals a shift in the administration's approach to certain Justice Department allocations.

Iran Talks. Trump stated that talks between the U.S. and Iran are moving ahead "at a rapid pace," despite earlier reports of a pause. He also indicated that Iran did not inform the U.S. it was ceasing negotiations. Global oil prices trimmed early gains but still topped $95 a barrel after Trump's statements on the peace talks.

Transgender Military Ban. An appeals court ruled that Hegseth illegally banned active transgender troops from U.S. military service. The divided appeals court panel found the transgender military ban to be unconstitutional for active personnel. However, the court also ruled that new transgender recruits can still be barred.

Border Patrol Leadership. CBP announced Pete Vasquez will be the new Border Patrol chief. This appointment marks a change in leadership for the agency responsible for border security.
